As expected, Beyonce’s fourth solo studio album, “4,” bounds in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling 310,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.
It’s the diva’s fourth solo No. 1 — and fourth studio set to top the list. She’s only the third act — and second woman — to see their first four studio albums debut atop the Billboard 200. Britney Spears did it with her first four between 1999 and 2003 while DMX’s first five all started at No. 1 between 1998 and 2003
“4′s” sales launch is lowest of her four releases: 2008′s “I Am … Sasha Fierce” entered with 482,000; 2006′s “B’Day” bowed with 541,000 and 2003′s “Dangerously In Love” started with 317,000.
Beyonce over the course of a year, took time off to find herself and what she loves in life way outside the spotlight. Well, now that shes back with a new album she has released a self documentary that she had filmed over the year that was edited together & was aired on tv.

Queen B takes fans behind the scenes of the year spent making her new album in special airing Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
Beyoncé released 4 on Tuesday (June 28), and she’s taking fans behind-the-scenes of her new album in the MTV special “Beyoncé: Year of 4,” set to premiere on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and BET, and at 7:30 on VH1 and Palladia (encore presentations will air later on MTV.com, MTV Hits and MTV Jams).
The special was filmed during Beyoncé’s year off, as she set out to discover what she wanted next in her career. It kicks off as B wraps up her I Am Tour, and finds herself at a crossroads before eventually giving into her mother’s advice to take some time off.
On the 29th, “4″ will be released in Japan which is the last country not to have the new album, but good things come to those who wait because on the Japan release Beyonce added a bonus track called “Dreaming” to the track list which you can hear below!

The go-to recording engineer for Beyoncé is Toronto native Jordan “DJ Swivel” Young. He’s sitting in a spacious studio at New York’s new $3.5 million Jungle City Studios, talking about his unlikely road to working on one of the most anticipated albums of 2011, Beyoncé’s “4″ (due June 28).
“I was cleaning toilets, ordering food, doing maintenance around the studio when I first started,” Young says, recalling his internship days. “But it never felt like a day of work. That’s when I knew I’d found my calling.” An ambitious kid who once DJ’d all-ages clubs, Young moved to New York two days after graduating from Full Sail’s sound engineering program in 2005. Soon, Island Def Jam recording artist Fabolous recruited him to engineer his recording sessions.
