Destiny’s Child members Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams were to make a trip to Chicago this weekend to face allegations from 2006 over stealing content for their 2004 hit single “Cater 2 U.”
However, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, the former R&B trio has reached a settlement with Rickey Allen, the artist who originally created the song.
“I can confirm that yes, it did settle,” explained Matthew Wildermuth, Allen’s attorney. “All of the issues have been amicably resolved and the case is going to be dismissed. [Allen is] excited about being able to devote time to posturing his musical career.”
Poor Bey! She did tons of good that night, but she couldn’t accomplish one more thing. That’s getting Lil Mama to stay off the stage! In this video, it shows Beyoncé trying to hold Lil Mama back, but she insists on running off from her! Drama!
It’s been a while since the MTV VMA’s, and I’m pretty sure a lot of people still remember the infamous Kanye West incident, where he made Taylor Swift cry. He originally put Beyoncé in a bad light in some people’s eyes. Now, Beyoncé has decided to speak about it.
At Billboard magazine’s annual Women in Music event (where she was named Woman of the Year), Beyoncé finally broke her silence on West’s stage storming — which, at this point, has been commented on by everyone from Green Day and Jay-Z to former President Jimmy Carter and current President Barack Obama. Though she understood the rapper’s intentions, B said she was mortified by his actions.
“Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award,’” Beyoncé told O: The Oprah Magazine editor Gayle King after accepting her award. “And when they didn’t call my name he was, like, completely shocked. And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’
“But in the end, it ended up being a great night, and Taylor Swift did get her moment — and I didn’t have to make an acceptance speech,” she added, laughing.
Craziness at it’s best! Thanks to Nightmare member Taylor for the article!
