Beyoncé Knowles is been courted to join the US X Factor judging panel, according to reports. The TV talent show’s judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, along with host Steve Jones, were recently axed in a massive shake up of the programme.
Simon is now keen to get some big names on board including Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. The Chicago Sun-Times claims that Simon is eyeing up the superstars after seeing the weight that musicians Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have added to rival show American Idol.
“Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor,” a show insider added to British newspaper The Mirror. Simon is returning to the judging panel for the second series of the singing show with music producer L.A. Reid.
Beyonce’s fourth studio album as a solo artist, appropriately titled “4,” was released this week to generally strong reviews. According to Spin, “As a singer’s showcase, ’4′ will probably end up bested this year only by Adele’s ’21.’” And the Los Angeles Times calls it “a surprising, confident turn.”
But will it bring her more Grammy glory? Yes, if history is any indication.
Beyonce holds one Grammy record, and she’s within striking distance of another. In 2010, the singer won six awards, more than any other female artist in a single year. Those prizes brought Beyonce’s overall haul to 16, which places her third among women, trailing only Aretha Franklin, who has 18, and country veteran Alison Krauss, whose 26 career wins makes her Grammy’s third-most-awarded artist overall.
Exclusive details inside Beyonce’s upcoming performance at London’s biggest Music Festival. Sources say that “this will be Beyonce’s biggest performance to date.” The source also said that “the pyrotechnics for this performance will be ASTRONOMICAL.” Sounds like the performance of the summer but it gets better.
The source also said that Beyonce will literally be playing with fire, “Beyonce will be the Queen of the Night as she commands the stage and plays and manipulate actual fire.”. Beyonce arrived in East London earlier this week to rehearse her performance at a secret location. Beyonce is taking two weeks to perfect this performance.
When Beyonce took to the stage at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards this past Sunday (May 22), she gave what was, quite possibly, the performance of her lifetime. It certainly ranks up there among the most memorable in the award show’s history. Honored with the Billboard Millennium Award, Beyonce performed her current single, ‘Run the World (Girls)’ while dancing and interacting with high-tech video projections synced behind her.
Beyonce’s performance dazzled just about everyone, but afterward it quickly became the center of a controversy, as too many aspects appeared to be lifted from a performance by Italian pop singer Lorella Cuccerini in 2010. The visuals, dancing and even sequencing are remarkably similar at points. And now, AOL Music reports that Beyonce has responded, in the form of an explanation.
“My makeup artist showed me the performance of Lorella Cuccarini a year ago, and it inspired me so much,” Beyonce told AOL Music. “I then met with the talented people who worked on it. The technology and concept were so genius. Thank god for YouTube or I would have never been exposed to something so inspiring. I never worked so hard on anything in my life as that performance for the Billboard Awards.”
Apparently, Beyonce & Drake have been added to the cast of Ice Age. The two pop stars will join Jeremy Renner and Jennifer Lopez in Ice Age: Continental Drift.
None of the characters details have been released yet, but the only thing we do know is that Jennifer Lopez will be doing a voice of a female saber tooth tiger.
Beyonce Knowles is ‘working nights’ on her new album while in Paris. The ‘Run The World (Girls)’ singer is visiting the French capital with husband Jay-Z, and while staying in a two story suite at the Hotel Le Meurice the pair have been working hard to get her forthcoming album complete.
A source told People.com: ‘They’ve set up a studio in another suite and have been working nights on her album.’
The couple arrived in Paris by private jet on Monday (18.04.11), and enjoyed a trip with her six-year-old nephew Daniel ‘ son of her sister Solange Knowles ‘ to Disneyland today (21.04.11), where she was seen having fun wearing a cap with the image of Disney character Goofy.
However, she has spent most of her time working, with a source joking she hadn’t even been seen shopping in the city’s expensive stores.
The insider said: ‘She hasn’t gone out on one of her customary kamikaze boutique runs.’
Beyonce is thought to be working with ‘S&M’ hitmaker Rihanna on her new album after meeting at this year’s Grammy Awards.
An insider said: ‘Rihanna has wanted to work with Beyonce for some time now and, after talking about a duet at this year’s Grammys, they have finally managed to set aside some time to record together.
“The song will feature on Beyonce’s album and will be a number one smash hit for sure.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z aren’t skimping when it comes to their accommodations in Paris.
The couple arrived in the French capital on Monday by private jet and, a source says, they have been ensconced in a two-story hotel penthouse suite at the Hotel Le Meurice overlooking the Tuileries Garden that goes for a whopping $20,000 a night. (No, that’s not a misprint, though it’s also not the priciest hotel suite in the City of Light.)
Not that it’s all R&R in the luxurious digs, which features a private kitchen, a glass enclosed dining room and an enormous private open air terrace. – (more…)
Winfrey’s last show is rumored to feature Beyoncé, Will Smith, Tom Cruise and Tyler Perry.
While no one is certain of exactly how The Oprah Winfrey Show will end, plenty of people are guessing. According to the rumor mill, the finale will be a two-part episode taped on May 17 at the United Center.
The show will pay “homage to the Queen of TV and her 25-year career.”
The first hour will apparently be hosted by Tom Hanks, while Will Smith will helm the second hour. There will be even more celebrity appearances from the likes of Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, Jamie Foxx, Jerry Seinfield and her good friend, Tyler Perry. Musical guests are said to include Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Usher, Patti LaBelle, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige.
As of now, Oprah and her team have revealed no official details about the finale, other than its air date: May 25, 2011.

Well after catching wind of the rumor, a rep for Sean Paul exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “These reports are completely false.”
According to the rumor mill, Paul had been in talks to write a biography about his life, and his rise from middle-class Jamaica to superstardom in the United States.
